Meet the Mentors
The McGill Mentor Program creates one-on-one upperclassmen-first year relationships that aim to strengthen each woman’s experience at CMU, as well as the BaM and Carnegie Mellon communities.
The relationships formed are unique for each pair. Time commitments, activities, and goals are set by each mentor-mentee duo.
If you have not already met us, come to Mondays with the Mentors on Monday at 8:30 on the McGill Lounge.

Kelsie Eiler
Hi, my name is Kelsie Eiler and in case you’re wondering, I am a current senior here at Carnegie Mellon. I am dual majoring in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Colloids, Polymers and Surfaces (one minor, it just has a really long name). I am originally from Fargo, North Dakota and I have a twin sister along with a younger sister and I am very close to both. I spend most of my free time hanging out with my friends here at CMU, baking, or exploring Pittsburgh. I have a passion for cosmetics (especially lipstick), color and laughter, and I always try to look on the bright side of things.
In my time here at CMU, I have been a part of a bunch of different organizations, but by far, I am most excited to now be a part McGill and the Bamily. I cannot wait to get to know everyone and all that this community has to offer!
Udaya Malik

My name is Leslie Tay and I'm a junior majoring in Global Studies and Biological Sciences. I hope to one day become a physician and travel the world bringing healthcare and medicine to rural and impoverished communities. I love to travel, eat, experience new cultures and meet new people! On campus, I'm involved with Delta Delta Delta, Student Body President's Cabinet, Co-President of Global Public Health Brigades, and have previously been a part of the Varsity Swimming Team, All University Orchestra, Student Senate, and Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity.

Naomie Laguerre
I’m a transfer student from Medford, MA, where I first studied Civil Engineering at Tufts University. Ethnically, my family is from Haiti. I am a Christian. I enjoy playing sports—my favorite sports are basketball and volleyball. On the less athletic side, I really like playing the computer strategy game The Sims 2. I love drawing, mostly portraits. This semester I am part of the Urban Design Build Studio, which focuses on empowering Homewood by building a community center and eventually affordable housing prototypes. I first became interested in divested communities after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, whose damage was compounded by the fact that building codes are nonexistent in the majority of the country.
I am also interested in health sciences... which is why I am in Organic Chemistry I this year. And I am also on Carnegie Mellon’s Student Senate, with an interest in Campus Life! Aside from that, I am learning how to play the piano (I also play the violin). I enjoy listening to gospel, jazz, and contemporary r&b, and I like to freestyle (even though I am shy about it).
Hello Bamily! I'm so glad to be able to engage myself in the company of all you wonderful people this year! I am currently a sophomore, pursuing Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. I believe the best way to experience college is to immerse yourselves in the plethora of opportunities available here. Over the past year, I have had the privilege to meet some of the greatest minds, and I'm here to make sure that you do too! Other than enjoying the company of great minds like yours, I spend most of my time at the Tartan, the campus newspaper, or as a mechanic for Fringe's buggy team. I also love to read and watch TV shows, especially Sherlock, and Grey's Anatomy. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you and having an amazing year ahead!
